A Brief History Oriental Trading Company (OTC) was established in 1957 by a group of prominent Qatari businessmen. Petroserv Limited acquired its shares in 1987 and formed a new combined trading division which then continued to diversify and expand to meet the market requirements. Two additional showrooms have been opened and direct selling to all market sectors was introduced alongside retail development.Once amalgamated, Petroserv Limited and OTC retained their individual identities to facilitate administration of long held agencies and also in conformity with commercial registration. In 1997, Qatar Industrial Services (QIS) acquired Petroserv Group Companies and since then, OTC has made significant investments in new premises, improving customer facilities, increasing manpower, diversifying product range and raising stock levels. OTC leads in providing customers with an attractive and essential product range and services with complete technical support. OTC represents a broad spectrum of international organisations including prestigious multinationals in the state of Qatar. OTC has access to its Group Company's engineering, fabrication and maintenance services which are available to supplement customer requirements. Marketing Team The marketing policy of OTC has the flexibility to take advantage of business opportunities. The market segments being covered are Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Fertilizer, Power & Water, Steel, Cement, Municipality, Defence, Civil Aviation, Construction and associated service industries. Engineers and sales executives of OTC with their in-depth knowledge and experience gained from leading international companies are uncompromising on quality. Prompt service and delivery are essentials expected by and provided to customers. The procedure of selective product listing is based on demand and quality. For efficiency of market coverage, products are grouped into the following: * Mechanical Division * Electrical Division * Chemical Division * Automotive Division * Plant Hire/Rental Division OTC personnel are intensively trained, locally and abroad, to ensure comprehensive product knowledge. Seminars are organised periodically to train and inform customers. Frequent support visits are made to end users to provide product information and gather market reactions. OTC maintains its position as a proactive organisation by regular planning and evaluation meetings. Orders are swiftly processed to ensure prompt deliveries. Showrooms Three fully manned showrooms are strategically situated in Doha and Salwa. Stock inventory is done in the most professional manner. Products are fully displayed with sales personnel in attendance. The Salwa Industrial Area Building of 62,600 sq. ft. includes a showroom, plant hire/rental, workshop and service centre. Mushaireb Street showroom and Souq Al Jassim showroom cover an area of 5,600 sq. ft. and 2,800 sq. ft. respectively. |
